The Fritter Co. at St. Jacobs Farmers' Market quite possibly makes the best apple fritters in the Waterloo area. It's a must try if you ever find yourself at the farmer's market!
Their apple fritters are freshly made and mixed thoroughly with the sugar before being packed when ordered.
You have the option of buying just 1 or half a dozen or a full dozen. (Each person can eat at least 2 fritters easily.)
Made with granny apples, the sour taste is balanced out with the crispy, thin dough and a coating of sugar on the outside. This box of warm fritters should be enjoyed before it turns cold, or else you'll be stuck with the oily feeling in your mouth when you eat it.
In the summer months, I've seen the line up for fritters here run out these doors and wind around the side of the building (yupp, it's that good). St. Jacobs is a popular farmers' market for locals and tourists alike in the summer but they do open all year round every Thursdays and Satrudays all year round so stop by for fresh, local produce!
