Korean a la Cart

Toronto a La Cart was started a few years ago and deemed a failure not long after. However, there is one (and only) hugely popular and successful a La Cart still on Toronto streets if you know where to look!

This Korean street food a La Carte is parked everyday outside of the Shoppers by Yonge and Finch (near Finch Station) and it's popular even among locals.

My favourite snack on the menu is their fried rice cakes (you have a choice of either teriyaki sauce or spicy sauce). Crunchy on the outside and soft on the inside, this is hands down probably one of the best ways to make Korean rice cakes. (It's only priced at a $1 each so I can shamelessly say that I order this every time.)

The rice cake soup was okay, nothing too special but I was surprised the soup wasn't MSG so it's perfectly ok to drink it all!

We also ordered the red bean waffle dessert but we were in a rush so I didn't have time to snap a picture of it.This is also another popular item on their menu and I would recommend trying this as well. However, they serve it fresh from their pan so be careful how hot it is, especially on the first bite when the red bean paste explodes in your mouth!
